My initial surprise about the green parakeets living in Amsterdam is now long gone. But I’m still excited every time I see these beautiful green birds flying from tree to tree or visiting my balcony in their search for food. Seeing the budgies up-close doesn’t happen often, that’s why I was very happy to find a feeding spot in the Jordaan neighbourhood, where I could watch them feed and quarrel about who gets the best seeds or best place on the tree.
Aren’t they just super cute?!

I’ve noticed them since my first year in Amsterdam. They are the ones making loud sounds in the trees in Westerpark, I’m sure you heard them before 🙂
