A good place for a late breakfast: Greenwoods

Starting Sunday with a tasty brunch is one of my rare pleasures. I usually wake up late and I like to lounge around the house till lunch time, so brunch hours are hard to make. But I still enjoy a good brunch, from time to time. Last Sunday it was so sunny and warm that I convinced myself to go out the house earlier than usual and meet a friend for brunch. This time we tried Greenwoods tea room located on the Keizersgracht.

The place is very cosy, perfect to hide underground on a cold, rainy day, and it has a great terrace with a canal view, for sunny days. They serve all day breakfast and delicious sandwiches, burgers and cakes. There are not that many vegetarian options, but still enough to feel that you have a choice. I particularly like the “Healthy Open Face” sandwich, made with home baked soda bread (yum!).

The food is fresh, the staff are friendly, the location is central so it’s a great place to spend a few hours with friends or to rest after a shopping session. I will return for sure, and I hope next time I’ll find a spot outside, on the terrace!
