It was a spring day, but the light was so autumn-like and seeds in the shape of small dry leaves fell from the trees, covering everything with a thick golden layer. The city suddenly seemed empty, there were few people on the streets; it was quiet and I felt very nostalgic — as I always feel when autumn comes. But it sure was no autumn, it was a beautiful April day instead, bringing with it the delight of walking through the flowers and leaves, playing and spreading them with my feet. It wasn’t raining, and just a soft breeze ruffled the leaves instead of the strong wind which is usual for Amsterdam. A perfect day to clear the mind, to think of everything and nothing at the same time.
