This weekend I was sick and had to cancel all my plans, including what sounded like a very fun bike tour which I hope I can still do next weekend. But the weather was amazing, so today I had to get out of the house, at least for a short while. I headed to the Museumplein to see the tulips. The Tulp Festival (tulp is the Dutch word for tulip) started at the beginning of April and consists of thousands of tulips being planted around the city, on a route that you can easily follow on foot or by bike.

I only went to see the tulips at the Museumplein, but there were plenty of colourful flowers that captured my attention. I didn’t know which way to look first! The festival will last for the whole month, giving me enough time to see other spots on the tulip route as well.

Enjoy the colours of today!
