Go North: NDSM-Werf in Amsterdam Noord

If you want to experience a different face of Amsterdam, take the ferry across the IJ and go to Amsterdam Noord. One very popular destination is NDSM-Werf, a former dock transformed in a place for artists, student houses, flea markets and interesting bars and restaurants. Former factories and industrial containers were converted to welcoming places for different kind of activities. I like that area for its industrial look, for the street art that can be found all over the place and the great view over the IJ’s waters.

Here are a few photos from a walk around the area and a day that I’ve spent mostly at Pllek, enjoying the pleasant sun of this late summer:
