Whenever I visit a new place or a new country I always feel the desire to see how the houses look like from the inside. I think that’s how you get to know for real the people, their life and the country itself. The exterior of a house can say a lot of things, but the interior is the one holding all the secrets.

Fortunately, in Amsterdam people are very open and glad to share the beauty of their houses with others. You can see many windows without curtains (or with little, tiny ones), windows that show the inside of a living room where one can even glance some of the domestic activities of the inhabitants — but, of course,  it is not polite to stare. You can stare though at the beautiful entrances. Nobody will mind if you stand in front of a house and take some pictures of the door that invites you to enter the real life of an Amsterdamian…
