I found my new favourite Amsterdam festival! Sail 2015 was absolutely amazing: a great display of what the sailing world means, a great vibe, romantic sunsets, concerts and fireworks every night! And sunshine! We were very lucky with the weather. My only regret is that I’ll have to wait five years to see the next one.

SAIL Amsterdam is the world largest nautical event, aiming to showcase the city’s maritime legacy. It takes place every five years, with its inaugural edition in 1975 to celebrate the 700th anniversary of Amsterdam. Tall ships from all over the world sail to Amsterdam for this event, and you can admire them from outside and on the inside! Such a unique opportunity to see them up close, to touch and feel them and to imagine how it would be to sail around the world.
