Vegan Restaurant DopHert

Note: this restaurant is permanently closed now.
With all the rainy days we’ve had lately, I’ve spent most of the time inside, cosying up on the couch, editing photos and reading. But yesterday I needed a walk and some fresh air, so I decided to go check the situation of the cherry trees from Westerpark: I can’t wait to see them in full bloom again! We still have to wait a week or two, but in the meantime there are other beautiful flowers to admire in the park.
Hungry after my long walk and mostly from spending all the energy fighting with the wind, I went to have a lunch at DopHert. This is a small vegan restaurant in the Spaarndammerbuurt, very close to Westerpark. The menu is quite appealing and everything they serve is egg and dairy free. They even have vegan bitterballen!
I had a Kimchi Banh Mi – a baguette with baked tofu and kimchi mayonnaise, which was absolutely delicious! To calm down the thirst, I had a carrot-apple-ginger juice, then I starred for a few long minutes at the peanut butter brownie but stayed committed to my decision of reducing the sugar intake, and didn’t have a piece.
All in all, it was a good day, I think it was worth going out in the rain 🙂
