Every time someone asks me what to visit outside Amsterdam, I have Volendam and Marken coming up on top of my recommendation list. I don’t miss any opportunity to pay a visit to my favourite villages in the Waterland area, and, if it’s going to be a day spent with a good friend, it’s even better!
In March, I had a friend visiting, who was in the Netherlands for the second time, and I was very happy to show her the beauty of Amsterdam and surroundings. Here are some photos from Marken, where we spent a great afternoon wandering through the village, eating pancakes and chasing cats 🙂
