On Saturday, figuring out it was one of the last sunny days of the season, I woke up very early to take pictures of the sunrise. I wanted to do this for some time, but I’m not a morning person so I kept postponing it. But it helps to have a partner in crime, and when Andra told me she wanted to do this as well, I managed to drag myself out of bed at 6.30 a.m. and went out. It was definitely worth it!

I like seeing the sunrise in this city. That morning started with purple colours over the canals, which gave way to reddish, as the sun went up casting its light upon the top of the façades. Around 9 a.m. the warm sun rays were blinding us, and the city started to wake up, the empty streets becoming busy with people, cars and bicycles, so we took the last pictures and went on with our day.
