Bucket list November 2017

The series of bucket list articles is back and here to stay! I tried this a while ago and it was really helpful to have my entertainment list all in order, and I know it inspired other people as well, so I’ve decided to write it again every month. Starting November I usually enter a sort of hibernation, preparing for the grey days of late autumn and winter. This year I want to avoid hibernation and be out enjoying things as much as possible. I also want to have cosy evenings at home, candlelight dinners and write with a cup of hot chocolate next to me, I won’t give up that. But I think a balance between them would be nice and will make it easier for me to get through the cold season. (I’m thinking about March as if it’s a hundred of years away!)

There are quite a few events on the cultural agenda of the city each month and there are enough places where you can find all of them, so my list won’t aim to bring you all this information. What I’ll post here will be only my personal favourites, the ones I already bought the tickets for or I’m planning to attend. I hope you’ll find it useful and maybe it will inspire you to do some nice things.

Canals of Amsterdam in November

But enough talking, here is the bucket list for November 2017:

  • I want to try one of the free lunch concerts at the Concertgebouw
  • I’m planning to visit Paleis Het Loo in Apeldoorn or the Muiden Castle
  • Visit Rotterdam and the National Museum of Photography (I’ve never been there and it’s on my list for a long while now)
  • Attend some of the storytelling nights during the Storytelling Festival
  • Museum Night on 4th November
  • See the new show of Orange Tea Theatre: Red
  • Attend The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam
  • Amsterdam Art Weekend — I’ll miss this one due to a short trip, but maybe some of you will attend
  • If there is still time, a visit to the art, antiques and design fair Pan Amsterdam
  • On 30 November 2Cellos in concert (yey!) – sorry guys this is sold out but I couldn’t help adding it to the list, I’m so happy to see them.

Have fun!

  1. I really want to go to the Muider slot myself, but maybe during a warmer time brrrrrr… Great list, thanks for compiling!

    • A warmer time is a good idea 🙂 I visited Haarlem today and almost froze to death. But then again, if you wait for warmer time in the Netherlands you’ll have a good part of the year that you won’t get out of the house!

PAN and lunch in the Concertgebouw are also on my list! Every month ( on Tuesday) there is also 30 min concert in the Stopera. Photo museum in Rotterdam is definitely worth the visit and the view from Hotel New York (5min from the museum) is absolutely wonderful. On the other side of the Eramusbrug, there is the Wereld Museum, also nice. Enjoy your month!
