The Hague (or Den Haag in Dutch) is a city located on the North Sea, in the South-Holland province. It serves as the seat of the Dutch parliament and government, as well as the King’s residence. For tourists, there are a few important landmarks to visit, but I think The Hague is mostly a great city to live in. It feels more relaxed than Amsterdam, with a more residential atmosphere. It’s an elegant city, full of beautiful buildings, leafy streets, and stylish shops.
The mix of international institutions, embassies, and expat communities gives it a cosmopolitan touch, with a calm and refined vibe. The proximity to the sea adds to its charm. On a sunny day, you can easily escape to Scheveningen Beach for a walk or a drink by the water. It’s a city that feels both sophisticated and peaceful, perfectly balancing city life with a slower pace.
This is probably the best view in the Hague. Close to the Central Station, the Hofvijver lake bordered by the Binnenhof and Mauritshuis Museum.
