Amsterdam upside down

When light transforms the canals into oversized mirrors, a new view of Amsterdam is revealed to our eyes — the funny and shimmering upside down city. I really like the way everything appears reflected off the clear waters of Amsterdam — the colours somehow seem more vivid, highlighted by the shining blue waves. The best moment to observer this reversed image would be on a sunny morning, especially in spring or autumn. These photos were taken in autumn, when, riding the bike along the canals, I couldn’t help but stop for a thousand times to capture the beauty that on the side of the road. Every time I look at them I remember the fresh air of that morning — still warm, running through my hair and caressing my face, a slight mixed smell of dry leaves and soft croissants, with a soft yellow light surrounding everything…

  1. These are great photos! I always love looking at the buildings in the canals when I am in Amsterdam.

    • Thanks! As you can see, this is one of my favourite activities, too 🙂
