Unexpected beauty: water lilies in Westerpark

There are two round ponds in Westerpark, right across the WestergasTerras. Well hidden, because they are surrounded by fences that don’t seem too inviting. Since not many people know about them, they are usually quiet and perfect for a relaxing moment, far away from the craziness — you know that sometimes even the park can be very crowded!

Going there recently I had a huge surprise: the ponds were covered with a blanket of water lilies in full bloom! I was so excited and took a lot of pictures but I tried to select only a few to share with you:
